MRS. CORTNYE RUSSELLServing as the principal of Wolf's Crossing Elementary School is truly a gift and a tremendous source of pride. As we begin the 22–23 school year and my fourth year as principal, we are set to “Love, Learn, and Launch!” This year’s theme echoes my leadership philosophy in taking care of our staff, students, and community first and foremost. My background in education includes teaching Art at Schaumburg High School, and Ira Jones Middle School in Plainfield District 202. My varied experiences and leadership roles in my 10 years as an administrator-Dean of Students and Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction, and now principal of Wolf’s Crossing for three years have been both very rewarding and very humbling. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Art Education (K-12) from Elmhurst College in 1999, and my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of St. Francis in 2009.
Leading our community in order to provide the best possible education for each of our students is truly my passion! As a life-long learner, I seek out opportunities to grow both as a professional and an individual continuously, and give my very best to the staff and students of Wolf's Crossing each day.
Yours in partnership,
Ms. Cortnye J. Russell, Principal |

And most recently I received a Master’s in Principal Leadership from St. Francis University, Joliet, IL. I am extremely excited to be a Wolverine and ready for another great school year.

MS. SARAH COMMIKEI am super excited to start my third year in Oswego School District as a Program Administrator/Coordinator for the STARS Program at Wolf’s Crossing, Thompson Junior High, and Oswego High School.
I have been in the education field for over 17 years working with students in special education. I started my career as a paraprofessional at a therapeutic day school and fell in love with teaching. I returned to school to be a special education teacher and quickly realized that not only did I have a passion for teaching students, but also working with teachers. This passion led me back to school to gain my master’s degree in Educational Administration. As an administrator, I have worked as the principal of a Private Therapeutic Day School, a Special Education Coordinator in Huntley School District, and as a coordinator at a school for students with Autism.
In each of my roles, I have sought to ensure the success of each student. I believe that education is a life-long process and look forward to learning more about the students, families, teachers, staff, and schools in District 308. My most rewarding moments have always involved working in close partnership with families, students, and other professionals to create meaningful experiences and positive outcomes for students and families. For children to reach their greatest potential and become lifelong learners, it takes a partnership of committed administrators, teachers, parents, support staff and students.
